The XtndEvent product requires that the viewer use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6.x or newer to view the recorded session. Do you support other browsers?

With more than 94% of the computers in the world operating in a Microsoft environment, we chose to develop our multimedia delivery format around the Windows Media platform. Our browser-based delivery tool uses the video viewing capabilities found within the Windows Media Player. Other elements of the screen utilize Javascripts to operate some of the functions. Based on that we have selected both Internet Explorer 6.x and higher as the exclusive delivery application. Back to the Questions.

What if we want to record a session that does not have a supporting slide presentation. Can we still use XtndEvent?

XtndEvent offers two types of presentation screens. One that supports the synchronization of the audio and video with the individual slides and one that just displays the video with the audio soundtrack. With the second format, we try to add some natural triggers to points within the session that allow the viewer to move through the talk to specific points using these links. Back to the Questions.

Can we incorporate a live chat service into the XtndEvent live streaming delivery service?

We offer this capability with any of our live streaming performances. The difference though is that we typically give control of this feature to a supporting moderator rather than push the questions directly to the presenter at the podium. By allowing the moderator to review the questions first, they have the ability to introduce the questions and/or comments at appropriate times. Back to the Questions.

Your program indicates that as the organizer, we must provide the broadband Internet access for your live streaming delivery service. Please explain why?

When a single vendor requests broadband Internet access within a conference facility, typically the rates are much higher. As the organizer, you have much greater control over the rates and services since you are already under contract for the entire event. Rather than pass on the higher costs to you, securing the line directly can bring down the overall cost. Back to the Questions.

How many XtndEvent recorded sessions can you fit on a single CD-ROM?

XtndEvent is as much about marketing as it is about content delivery. Technically our discs have the ability to store as many as three individual sessions on the disc, but we don’t recommend that. In most cases we limit the capacity to no more than two sessions. Part of the idea is that customers select sessions based on the content. Sponsors also select their support on the same thing. By combining sessions, the customer may be paying for something they don’t want and sponsors may find they are competing with another on the same disc. Back to the Questions.

With the hosted on-demand web service can you also provide a pay-per-view program?

Yes. Our programming team can provide you with a complete shopping cart front end that allows individuals to select which sessions they want to view and then purchase those rights. They are provided with a unique security code that allows them to watch that session as many times as they wish during a 24-hour period. After that, the session is void. You can also provide sponsors with bulk viewing certificates that they can send out to customers. Ask our sales staff for more details on this marketing tool. Back to the Questions.

What can you deliver from your onsite replication station?

As one of the unique features of the XtndEvent product, our ability to produce a finished session within hours after the recording means that attendees can purchase a replicated copy typically by the next morning. The replication station incorporates our disc replication and print systems so we can produce finished discs in under 3 minutes. The stand can replicate audio files and XtndEvent sessions.
