The 700mb CD-ROM disc has a capacity of over 100,000 pages of formatted text or more than 1800 full-color PDF documents, or more than 125 PowerPoint presentations. In any combination, this adds up to a tremendous amount of information, which can be delivered to the attendee. The ICP Disc also includes a built-in search engine that can index virtually every type of document stored on the CD.
In keeping with the theme of marketing crossover, the ICP Disc provides a seamless link to the Internet direct from the disc. Assuming that the computer in which the disc is loaded is connected to the Internet, additional pages and content appears without an inkling as to the actual location.
The ICP Disc program takes advantage of this by allowing late arriving content to be accessed by the attendee even after the discs have been replicated and distributed. Updated presentations, last-minute handouts and documents generated during the conference can now be accessed through the same desktop portal as the information stored on the disc.
Current event organizers that are taking advantage of this new delivery platform have found real benefit in both the storage capacity as well as the link to the Internet. The International Association of Fire Chiefs has been incorporating exhibitor and attendee a list, future event marketing and comprehensive membership drives through individual sections added to the menu.
Still others have incorporated surveys and polling forms to gauge the value of the event and the technology. These forms are submitted electronically and end up in the organizer’s email.
Another important aspect about the ICP Disc is that it incorporates statistical tracking tools that become active when the disc is launched in an Internet-enabled computer. Data on usage, length of stay and most popular documents tells both the organizer and the sponsors that the information is being accessed after the conference is over.
At the top of the product line, ConventionDisc offers a comprehensive multimedia session solution called XtndEventtm. This turnkey solution captures an educational session through audio, video and synchronized presentation images.
When compiled, attendees can watch and listen to a recorded session through their computer’s browser screen. The video shows the presenter as they speak, the audio is linked to the individual presentation slides and the program allows viewers to jump forwards, backwards or skip to specific spots in the presentation with a simple mouse click.
Other features allow for sponsorship exposure, document files and viewer surveys all without leaving the actual presentation.
